Welcome to Our Itty Bitty Home

Hello and welcome to Our Itty Bitty Home! I’m excited to share our journey of transformation, love, and a bit of chaos that began back in 2018. As a single mom of four beautiful kiddos, I was on a quest for a better living space for us—a place we could grow into without feeling cramped.

The Tight Squeeze

Our previous home was a tiny two-bedroom place with just one bathroom. It was a cozy arrangement, but as my three girls and I squeezed into the larger bedroom while my son had the smaller one, I knew it was only a temporary solution. The kids were young, which made it easier to adapt, but as they grew, so did our need for space. We had to rely on outdated window units and a floor heater from the 1940s to manage the temperatures—some days felt more like an endurance test than a comfortable home life!

Despite its imperfections, we created beautiful memories there, from family game nights to cozy movie marathons. But deep down, I knew we needed a change—a place with at least two bathrooms and a little more room to breathe.

A Twist of Fate

While I was contemplating renovations on our existing home, I met my now fiancé, who is also a contractor. Funny how life works, right? He lived about an hour away, and our paths crossed during my son’s play practice. As we chatted about my plans to expand, he kindly offered to show me some properties. That’s when we stumbled upon an abandoned home.

The moment I stepped inside, I felt it: this house was meant for us. It had potential, character, and a sense of possibility that drew me in. So, we jumped in headfirst, eager to turn this neglected space into our dream home.

Transforming Our Space

With the help of my fiancé’s expertise and a lot of hard work, we started to breathe new life into this house. Each room became a canvas for creativity, and we poured our hearts into every renovation, from updating the kitchen to creating cozy spaces for the kids to thrive. Along the way, we learned to embrace the quirks of our new home. We’ve laughed at the challenges, celebrated the small victories, and made it a sanctuary filled with love and laughter.
